What Atlassian server customers need to consider from February 2022

At the end of 2020, Atlassian announced that it will no longer support all server products after 02.02.2024 (Atlassian end-of-life announcement). Atlassian customers continue to use all products as a SaaS solution in Atlassian Cloud or self-managed as Data Center version available.
Since February 2021, new server products are no longer available for purchase. The next limitation for Atlassian server products will also follow soon:

Existing Atlassian Server customers will no longer be able to adjust the number of licensed users as of 15.02.2022!

Atlassian is no longer delivering new features for server products!

The most important milestones

02.02.2021 - Server licenses no longer available for purchase

• No new server licenses are sold by Atlassian
• Apps can still be purchased and renewed for existing applications

01.05.2021 - No new server apps for Marketplace

• The marketplace is closed for new server apps. Existing apps will still be able to deliver updates

15.02.2022 - User tier can no longer be adjusted

• It is no longer possible to increase or reduce user licenses (user tier).
• Updates are limited to critical security gaps

02.02.2023 - App purchases stopped in the marketplace

• Existing customers can buy existing apps in the Marketplace until 02.02.2023.

02.02.2024 - Support for server products is discontinued

• No product updates are delivered
• The products are no longer supported
• License extensions will be charged on a pro rata basis up to this date

License the appropriate number of users

The number of Atlassian users or agents can be adjusted by February 15, 2022 at the latest. If you plan to stay on servers until the end of the maintenance period, it's important to consider changes in your Atlassian users and users and pre-license them accordingly.
This means that you choose the maximum number of users that you expect by the end of 2024.
